The theory of decision fatigue.
How many decisions do you make in a day? Does the quality of your decisions throughout the day change?
To put things simply, the theory of decision fatigue outlines that humans have a limited number of decisions they can make well in a day, therefore, we should we should limit the amount of basic, repetitive decisions we need to make (i.e. daily outfits) each day. By doing so, we best prepare for the moments when we need to use our focus and energy on bigger decisions that should use more of our limited brain power or the day.
The theory is one that I have found to be interesting and, although not sure if I believe it or not, I have been able to use it to refine some of my daily processes and to better preserve my energy for what matters most.
The moral of this post is that you should use your energy and time wisely. Even though making decisions doesn’t always require money, they still have costs somewhere along the line.
