It all ends.

‘At the end of the day, it’s the end of the day’, my dad would always say this when I was a kid and, now, finally, I get it.

One of the greatest pieces of advice I ever got at university came through the realisation I got smacked in the face with like a cold dead fish. It went like this, I invited one of my favourite lecturers out for a coffee (One thing I have learnt when catching up with senior people that are super good at what they do is that they are doing you a favour by giving you their time so be appreciative and, secondly, they haven’t got much of it so , they get to the point pretty damn quick), after some small talk he said something along the lines of..

“Pav, if this isn’t what you want to do everyday, then get the heck out of the course. I wake up to do this stuff because I love it, everyday I get to do what I love. One day you are going to die, what the f*** are you going to do between now and that day? Because if you don’t love this, find something else.”

Now, sorry to break it to you people, but this whole show ends. Rapidly. It moves way too quickly to ignore the truths that you need to look at in immense detail to make life better. It ends so tragically that you shouldn’t spend your waking moments stuck doing stuff you don’t like (This is within reason people, we all need to do stuff in life we don’t like, but make sure you are progressing toward your goal(s)). Society is so incredibly fake that it is not worth the energy to wear a mask to try fit in.

I like to imagine my life, and the lives of the loved ones around me, as symbolised by a pod of dolphins - this may seem crazy, I know, but bear with me. It is a pod of dolphins, bursting through the ocean, each at different times, representing different starting times on this planet. The parabolic trajectory of ONE SINGLE JUMP is our ENTIRE LIFETIME. That’s all you get - one jump. That is all the universe gives you to experience not only itself, but consciousness, love and pain. If you are reading this, you are partly through your jump - take the time to slow down and enjoy the view whilst you can - as soon as you land, you are back in the abyss, taking form in whatever you were before you existed here.

To quote one of the greats “You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a life time yo!” - Eminem.

It all ends people, make it count.
