“…but you might as well enjoy it.”
Shit goes wrong, things fail and most things get ruined.
Get bloody used to it. Get invested, but never so invested that you lose a piece of yourself when things go wrong - they most inevitably will and most times it isn’t worth it. Just enjoy it and try see the positive in it - this means letting go enough to feel like you aren’t being pulled under.
I love the quote “No such thing as a bad coffee, just another flavour you don’t like.” - one because it is true, but second of all, because it is wrong as well. You can see it from both ends of the spectrum - depends on what hat you are wearing on the day. If you can, try view the world from the fact that you know another flavour you don’t lie rather than the barista sucks at making coffee.
Find the silver lining, the lesson in all that goes wrong - at least it makes it useful in some way. And, when absolutely everything is crumbling to pieces, unfold a camping chair, kick back and enjoy the show - it is better than stressing about it.
As Hemingway wrote in For whom the bell tolls -
“It was ruining everything, but you might as well enjoy it.”
