To take a chance
I have been thinking a lot about my grandparents whilst I have been working on their farm. They have done a lot in their life times and it all comes down to them having taken chances. Life is a story of the chances we have taken and the decisions we have made.
Sometimes we can act very quickly to stop ourselves from taking chances. The sure bets in life are the ones we are most comfortable with, often to our own demise - from staying on the couch all day or even sticking it out at a job we don’t like. Better the devil we know than the devil we don’t - but I have to wonder if we are actually better at spotting angels but prefer the company of devils.
If you are someone who can see even a fractional percentage of a better life on the other side of whatever situation you are currently in, I would love for you to take a chance on getting to whatever that may be. Practice getting out of your comfort zone and let yourself imagine a world/reality for you that has the changes you would like in it. For some of you this may result in a feeling or an idea - capture that and focus your time and energy on it. Hopefully you find it inspiring or at the very least an eye opening exercise. The fear of getting things wrong may keep you from taking the steps forward, but I firmly believe that movement and change are not only vital for the human experience, but necessary. We aren’t meant to remain stationary or sit still, just like every other natural thing on this planet.
As a human, you are the world’s most capable being. You have the power to change not only your own future, but the future of humanity itself. On this alone, I back you on the fact that you can make a change for the better. Take a chance on something and back yourself - visualise the change and take action toward it. Repeating the same cycles may be comforting, but it is not the key to achieving our dreams.
